| 1. I
transferred my files but I still see under construction.
What is wrong? |
| |
Solution:
|
The most common reasons for this are:
- You did not name your
first page index.htm or another autostart name.
- You uploaded the
content outside the HTML directory.
- Make sure all files
are inside the HTML directory.

| 2. I
already have my own domain currently hosted on another
service. Is there any problem with transferring the
domain from them to you? How does that work? Will I
have time to set up my web site before the transfer
takes effect to make it smooth as possible? |
| |
| Solution: |
It is always a good idea
to advise your current host that you are transferring
to another company. When you complete our signup
process and indicate that you are transferring your
domain we send a modification request to Network
Solutions. Once Network Solutions receives this
request, they will email the domain contacts an
acknowledgement request for approval. If one replies
in a negative manner the request will be rejected. It
may take up to three (3) days for Network Solutions to
process. After InterNIC has approved the request, it
will take between 24 and 48 hours for all of the DNS
servers in the world to update and activate your URL.
Advising your current host of your intent to transfer
is especially a good idea if they are listed as your
technical contact—their negative response to the
acknowledgement request would halt the transfer
process.
Please note that if your domain name was registered
through an agency other than Network Solutions, the
modification request we generate will not affect the
transfer of your domain. You will have to contact the
agency with which your registered your domain and
change the DNS information manually. |

| 3. Where
should I put my Access database? |
| |
| Solution: |
Databases should be put in
a /database directory. This /database directory should
be at the SAME level as the /html directory (also called
the root directory) not within it. That means that when
you connect via FTP you directory structure will look
like this:
/html
/database

| 4.I want
to use FrontPage's built in database connectivity. What
do I do? |
| |
| Solution: |
|
To use FrontPage's built in database connectivity you
will need to put your database in a folder called fpdb.
FrontPage will create this for you when you use the
database wizard. You can not put your database in a a
folder outside the /html folder if you are using
FrontPage's built in database connectivity.

| 5.How do I
determine if FrontPage® Extensions are installed on my
website? |
| |
| Solution: |
To determine if FrontPage®
Extensions are installed on your website type this in
your browser address bar: http://www.mydomain.com/_vti_inf.html.
You will see a message like this:
FrontPage Configuration Information In the HTML comments
this page contains configuration information that the
FrontPage Explorer and FrontPage Editor need to
communicate with the FrontPage server extensions
installed on this web server. Do not delete this page.
That means your extensions are installed. If you don't
see this message or get a "404 Page Not Found"
error please contact
us
Keep in mind that FrontPage extensions do not come with
every plan. To see which plans include FrontPage
extensions, please see here. |
